Bad Behaviours

Hi everyone.

Is your dog as well trained and well behaved as you like to think?

Here are some behaviours to look out for:

• Bursting out of cages, doors or cars

• Needing to be recalled multiple times

• Pulling on lead

• Not really sitting and staying when told

• Growling or excessive barking

• Stealing / destroying things that have not been given to them

• Jumping up on people

• Mouthing / nipping
  

Before I continue, just know that I’m a hypocrite. The less than perfect behaviour of my dog and his 6 bitches is what has driven me to write this.

So, my suggestion is this:

• Identify the behaviours that need addressed

• Place training treats in locations where you might need them

• Get a treat pouch (honestly a game changer)

• More walks and exercise

• More discipline overall (and consistency!)

• Use AI phone apps (Gemini, Grok, Claude, ChatGPT) or youtube to find tips to address specific behaviours.

Remember, it’s for their own good. (plus, they love being trained)

Start at home and then progress to more and more distracting environments.

If the treats aren’t getting their attention, switch to slices of cooked sausage.
